The Amitabha Stupa

Also known as the Moon Practice

Embodying the lunar current

This is a living practice Darananda received through the blessing stream of Padmasambhava and related Dakinis, emerging in response to the conditions of our time.

The practice works with the lunar dimension of embodiment, attuning the body to circulate, absorb, and emanate light in rhythm with the Moon’s phases and the subtle architecture of the cosmos as lived through the body.

Through sensing, visualization, and structural awareness, the practitioner refines perception, purifies the subtle channels, and attunes to the cyclical intelligence of embodiment.

The practice strengthens embodied coherence,  stabilizes receptivity, and restores the sacred balance of giving and receiving.

This work is most supportive once a foundational level of sensitivity and energetic clarity has been established.

The Lunar Doorway of the Awakened Body

Within the Cosmology of the Awakened Body, the Moon Practice is a path of refined receptivity, teaching the body to know itself as luminous temple rather than through efforting will.

The Moon Practice is an intermediate energetic spritual practice that works with the refined luminosity of the Moon in living relationship with Amitabha Buddha and the Earth. Rather than seeking transcendence, the practice gently reweaves awareness into physical immediacy—allowing clarity to descend into the tissues, rhythms, and intelligence of the body.

Through cyclical attunement with lunar phases and subtle structure, the pathways of the Awakened Body begin to open naturally.

Participants often discover a quiet and grounded coherence: the mind returning to its native clarity, the body to its native immediacy, and life itself becoming the teacher.

This practice forms part of the foundational stream of Darananda’s work and supports those who feel called toward deeper attunement with pure awareness.

This is an intermediate practice because it works directly with subtle structure. It presumes that the practitioner already has access to their lived experience and is not primarily navigating unresolved density.

Why the Moon?

Video Poster Image

Working with the Moon allows practitioners to access a unique, refined, and transformative energy that supports deep spiritual growth, healing, and connection with both cosmic and earthly cycles.

  • Refined, Purified Energy: The Moon is a source of highly refined, clear, and purified light energy. By working with this energy, practitioners invite more subtlety, clarity, and refinement into their own systems, which helps to reorganize and illuminate both the individual and the collective.

  • Feminine and Nurturing Qualities: The Moon embodies a highly refined feminine energy that is needed on the planet at this time. This energy is deeply transformative, supporting both personal healing and planetary rebalancing.

  • Magnetizing and Culturing Effect: The Moon’s energy has a magnetizing quality that draws the practitioner’s system toward greater subtlety and away from density. Instead of focusing on removing negativity, the practice introduces something precious (the Moon’s light), which naturally reorganizes, restructures, and uplifts the practitioner.

  • Connection to Cosmic and Earthly Cycles: The Moon’s regular, rhythmic cycle provides a natural structure for the practice. By aligning with the lunar phases, practitioners tap into a powerful, ancient rhythm that supports transformation and growth, while in direct connection with the Earth.

  • Spiritual Apprenticeship: The Moon is regarded as a tutelary deity (Yidam) and a teacher. Practitioners are apprenticing with the Moon, learning from her qualities of refinement, dynamic change, and wholeness orienting in both a devotional and relational way.

  • Personal and Planetary Benefit: The practice is intended not only for personal awakening and refinement but also for the benefit of the planet and all beings. By channeling the Moon’s energy into the earth and through themselves, practitioners contribute to planetary healing and balance.

  • Balancing the Moon: In this practice the practitioner is also supported and balanced by Amitābha Buddha. A structuring and stabilizing masculine presence, who is central to making the practice possible.
