Touching Wholeness

Why We Gather

The text below was shared through the mailing list June 16,2026. I thought it worth sharing here as well.

I’ve been reflecting a lot recently on movement, communication, and what it actually means to participate in this life.

Our nature is movement. Everything is constantly in motion—moving, changing, opening, collapsing, utterly impermanent. This field of being is vibrant, communicative, dynamic, and radiant with potential.

And yet, so often, we don’t know how to be active participants with life itself; with what's unfolding and appearing. We don’t know how to sense and follow the energy. Instead, we get caught up in the movement, tossed around by the drama of the ego, tangled up in dynamics of control and manipulation.

The personal ego-construct is, in its own way, a clumsy attempt to participate. While it is a form of communication, it's fundamental basis isn't solid and stable whatsoever. Thus the entire orientation of the ego is to continually shore up a false sense of safety that precludes our wholeness. So, we get caught in the never-ending, exhausting task of trying to control the flow of reality from a basis of lack and separation. In doing so, we lose the opportunity to really participate in the unfolding of our own beingness. Our own truth.

We forget or simply lack the fundamental knowledge that our true nature is utterly unchanging, open, radiant, stable awareness-love (marigpa & rigpa).

To taste this, we have to renounce control and manipulation of all kinds. No matter how hard we try, there is nothing to hold onto.

When the grip loosens, we find that the mind itself is infinitely vast, clear, uncreated, unbounded, still, and peaceful. While our concepts bog us down, the body remains pure liveliness, pure immediacy.

This pure awareness is both still and unchanging, and luminous and lively, expressing itself as the very movement of our lives.

This is precisely why we gather in Sangha.

Sangha is not just a social group or community; it is the space, flow, and field of our meeting. On an outer level, it looks like individuals taking their seats to practice together. But at a deeper level, what is taking place is the patterning of energy all together and individually—moving, opening, shifting, settling, relating.

It is our field of participation. The context where we learn to stop shoring up our identities and instead learn to dance with the ceaseless creativity of reality arising to us and as us.

The Sangha Series begins next week.

If you feel called to step out of the exhausting cycle of control and into a shared field of living presence, I would love for you to join us.

To keep the space deeply intimate, we are running three distinct groups capped at just 5 participants each. Across the entire series, there are currently only 5 spaces remaining.

You can read the full overview of the series, explore the logistics, and reserve your seat here:

P.S. The words above are a blend of some recent notebook reflections and the text from the Sangha Series page. I may develop this into a fuller piece of writing. For now, if you'd like to read the full context and look at the logistics for next week, you can find everything here.
